Maricopa County Superintendent Steve Watson has selected Courtney Davis to fill the Mesa Public Schools Governing Board vacancy. A native of Mesa, Mrs. Davis will be sworn in as a board member at the Aug. 22 board meeting.

“With three children currently enrolled in the district, I have a personal stake in the quality of education provided by Mesa Public Schools,” said Mrs. Davis. “I am committed to ensuring that all students have access to an inclusive, engaging, and excellent education that prepares them for their future endeavors. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.”

Mrs. Davis was introduced at the Aug. 8 board meeting by Governing Board President Marcie Hutchinson. She will begin her board service immediately following her swearing in on Aug. 22.
