Mesa Public Schools earned an overall letter grade of ‘B’ in the latest A–F Letter Grade Report from the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). This rating reflects continued growth and progress across the district.
District Highlights:
Overall ‘B’ grade for Mesa Public Schools
Increased district GPA because of more schools getting an A or B.
61 schools earned an ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade — an increase of 9 schools from last year
20 schools improved by at least one letter grade
40 schools maintained their previous year’s grade
33 K-8 schools earned points for decreasing chronic absenteeism
All seven high schools increased their College and Career Readiness Indicator (CCRI) points
The Arizona Department of Education evaluates schools based on several factors, including year-to-year student academic growth, proficiency in English language arts, math, and science, English learner progress, readiness indicators for elementary and high school students, and high school graduation rates.
Mesa Public Schools will continue to build on this success by focusing on academic achievement, student support, and community engagement. With a strong foundation of excellence, the district remains committed to providing the best possible education for every student.
Note: Mesa Public Schools is currently listed as “UR” on the letter grades released earlier today due to appeals for some of our schools. Regardless of the outcome of those grades, Mesa Public Schools will receive a “B” as its overall district grade.
